Aditya Fajar 452 views My wife is two months and one week pregnant. Her pregnancy came as a surprise for both of us, since we weren’t expecting a baby. Nonetheless, the news is a blessing , although at first, it’s kind of hard to digest.
As a father to be, I have to prepare for the baby’s arrival. It’s a completely new experience for me in all aspects. Mentally, physically, and economically.
As I continue learning about pregnancy, I have to admit that this process is an exciting-but-also-scary-and-confusing process.
It is exciting when I see cute babies and the joy they bring to the world. I can’t believe that I would also experiencing that joy in the coming months. It becomes scary when I think how inexperience I am in this matter, and for that, it makes me confuse as well. One thing is sure though, my love toward the baby is growing. And this helps me to stay afloat for things ahead.
Despite of advances in technology, pregnancy is still shrouded in myths. In Indonesia for example, there are signs, which are believed to give clues about the sex of the baby, even at the early stage of the pregnancy.
For example, if the mother is showing little interest to beautify herself, like putting makeup, taking a shower, wearing nice dress, etc., then the baby is predicted to be a boy. However, if the mother is becoming more aware toward here appearance, then the baby would be a girl.
Although those signs might not be true and can’t be justified, yet, from several mothers that I’ve asked about this (including my mom), they tend to agree with such signs. So I guess, the signs have some truth after all.
In the case of my wife, as her pregnancy advances, she’s showing the signs, which suggest the baby is going to be a boy.
Frankly, I’m quite excited if my first child is a boy. I just hope he would grow healthy and perfectly in the womb. I pray to God that his delivery will be a safe one for both the mother and the baby.
Speaking about a baby boy, one thing comes to my mind, toys. I was wondering what kind of toys that I should get for my baby. Personally, I like fluffy toys, they are soft and very nice to cuddle.
I suppose it’s okay to get fluffy toys for infants. As they grow, the toys will be adjusted accordingly. As for now, fluffy toys should do just fine.
Another thing about fluffy toys is that they are relatively safe for the baby. Especially for their skin. I think fluffy toys would never irritate, moreover, hurt baby skin.
Anyway, I know this post doesn’t really relate to other articles in my blog, but it helps me to find peace with myself in regard to pregnancy and becoming a father. I hope you understand.
